It has continued to be a rather strange beginning to the New Year. The streets are still relatively quiet but I know that won’t continue especially if people get out to go see some of the hot acts coming to the area.

Prepare yourself to go to Almeria especially the business City next month to catch the one and only Van Morrison. That’s right, on February 10th you’ll be able to catch his hot live stage act at the Maestro Padilla.

The Frank Gambale Natural High Trio, featuring Otmaro Ruiz and Alain Caron with Frank Gambale on acoustic guitar, Alain Caron on bass and Otmaro Ruiz on piano will also be appearing at the Maestro Padilla on March 2nd.

On the local scene, check out Rayo Del Sol in Mojacar Pueblo. As of the time of this writing, New Life, the duo of Nicole and Keith were to appear on Sunday, January 22nd. If you missed them, I’m sure you’ll catch their exciting act when they appear again or perhaps when they appear in another of the local venues in the area. I urge you to check out some of the venues in and around your area where you live or work to see what’s being presented during the week and weekends. If you’re a musician or vocalist wanting to showcase your talent or introduce yourself to the Mojácar music scene, you’ll want to visit Sax On The Beach Restaurant and Bar on Wednesday evenings and participate in their weekly jam session. Of course, if you’re not a musician and just want to go check out great live music, you can wander into Sax and enjoy yourself just the same. And don’t forget to catch the group Fig & Bucket on Sunday evenings at Sax On The Beach too.
