It is part of an exclusive development of six houses set around its own infinity pool and private gardens. The house is furnished to a high standard and offers comfortable and tasteful accommodation in a spectacular setting with stunning views of the Mediterranean coastline and the Sierra Cabrerra mountains.
The centre of the village is an easy stroll from the house and in close proximity to good restaurants and tapas bars. Immediately accessible to Bedar is some attractive walking country. It is home to a particular species of tortoise, is a bird watchers paradise.
The ground floor accommodation consists of a large lounge with dining area leading out through patio doors onto a terrace with spectacular views down to the Mediterranean. The lounge has a 25"TV with satellite system and a log effect gas fire. There are two sofas in the lounge one of which is a bed-settee. There is a fully equipped kitchen with fridge-freezer, microwave and oven. There is a small utility room with a washing machine and a downstairs cloakroom. The house has full air conditioning throughout.
Upstairs the bedrooms are all of a good size. The master bedroom, which has en-suite facilities houses a double bed. The second bedroom has twin beds and the third bedroom a single bed. There are fitted wardrobes in each room. Two bedrooms overlook the garden and pool from a balcony. On the third floor is a large roof terrace for totally secluded sun-bathing and relaxing.
The old mountain village of Bedar nestles on the slopes of the Filabres Mountains with views beyond of the Sierra Cabrera and down to the Mediterranean Sea. It is said that the original inhabitants were mainly artists migrating from the Mojacar Pueblo. The village is still popular with artists inspired by the varied colours of the landscapes from the blossom on the almond groves in the spring to the vibrant colours of the orange and lemon trees in the summer.
Bedar has good local facilities including 4 bars, 2 restaurants, a mini supermarket, bakers, pharmacy and bank. Bedar is a nature lover's paradise. If you enjoy unrestricted countryside walks and appreciate flora and fauna then you will soon recognise this is an exceptional place by any standards.
In the past year some 70 species of birds have been seen including the golden eagle. Wild flowers particularly in the spring (February - April) are numerous including wild orchids. Bugonveila is in abundance with various shades of vibrant colours and bright blue plumbago and bird of paradise.
The local markets are a great opportunity to buy fresh meat including dried hams with fresh fish and seafood in abundance. The region of Almeria is famous for grilled sardines and barbecued fish and seafood. Bedar is one of the most desirable locations to live in Spain and a beautiful place to holiday.
