Playa Mecenas is the most sophisticated and modern resort in Andalucía Spain. It was officially opened on 12th July 2008 by Jordi Robinat, President of its developer, the Med Group. The resort covers a total of 140 hectares and has a kilometre of coastline - the only new resort in the region to do so. The golf course is located next to the Mediterranean Sea and beach, and close to the beautiful holiday resort of Mojacar Playa and the stunning natural park of Cabo de Gata. The 18-hole, par 68 golf course forms the backbone of the development and combines indigenous species of vegetation, with natural and man-made hazards, to the backdrop of a sea view

Every hole at Playa Macenas golf course requires the utmost concentration. Good shot-making will be rewarded but challenging greens, numerous bunkers, grassy mounds, two lakes, strategically located copses and newly planted shrubs lie in wait to punish wayward shots. Each hole has its own particular features and challenges, with varying levels of difficulty. Holes have been designed to offer an extremely varied range of shots and playing strategies, as well as views across the course and beautiful surroundings. Varied teeing positions and large greens with a variety of pin positions mean that the length and difficulty of the round can be adapted and varied each day.

Playa Macenas Beach and Golf Resort is more than just a magnificent course with spectacular views. Racket sports players can enjoy tennis and paddle tennis and swimmers can enjoy the various community pools in attractive and relaxing surroundings.
